John Benemann is the CEO and co-founder of MicroBio Engineering Inc. in San Luis Obispo, California, established in 2009. He is also a co-founder and board director of the Algae Biomass Organization and the European Algae Biomass Association. Benemann serves as a consultant and advisor to U.S. and international government agencies and companies. He has been the principal investigator on numerous U.S. Department of Energy-funded projects and is an accomplished conference speaker and author, specialising in microalgae physiology, wastewater treatment, photosynthesis, and biotechnology.
