Jaap W. van Hal, Ph.D., is currently leading research in biorefinery and hydrothermal recycling. His expertise encompasses biomass fractionation and the catalytic conversion of biomass to renewable chemicals, with a particular focus on algae, both micro and macro. Before joining TNO in 2008, he gained valuable experience at SABIC Americas in the U.S. Jaap holds a Ph.D. from Rice University and an undergraduate degree from Leiden University.
