This presentation highlights SINTEF's work in R&D for seaweed valorization in Norway. It covers seaweed farming and harvesting techniques aimed at maximizing biomass production and creating high-demand products with climate-positive effects. Key projects include Macrosea, focusing on automation, and Genialg, which uses clips instead of knots for seaweed attachment. The SPOKe prototype showcases efforts in upscaling cultivation at sea, and identifying optimal cultivation sites is also discussed.
