This presentation explores the domestication and breeding of seaweed in Korea, detailing production methods, breeding technologies, and protection of aquatic plant varieties. It examines the domestication process for *Pyropia*, including selection, crossbreeding, and mutation breeding for disease resistance. Challenges in kelp cultivation and crossbreeding efforts between *Undariopsis* and *Undaria* to extend the cultivation period are also highlighted.
