This presentation demonstrates how N-glycans help resolve the taxonomic complexity of microalgae. It highlights the diversity of glycobiology and the role of protein N-glycosylation, using live Chlorella classified into three glyco-groups. An example of the N-glycan pattern from Scenedesmus vacuolatus (formerly C. fusca) is provided, alongside commercial sample spectra for each glyco-group, illustrating their taxonomic significance.
