Jessica Knoop is a marine biologist currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Ghent University. Her research focuses on the cultivation and sustainable exploitation of marine macrophytes, particularly red algae and sugar kelp, aiming to optimise their life cycles for successful growing both on land and offshore. Additionally, she explores the integration of seaweeds into aquaculture systems to mitigate the environmental impact of finfish farming. Knoop holds a Master of Science in Marine Biology from the University of Bremen and has previously conducted research at Swansea University.
