María José Chapela Garrido is a Senior Researcher and Head of Business Development in R&D at ANFACO-CECOPESCA since 2023. She has over 17 years of experience in biotechnology, nutrition, health, and food safety, having previously held roles such as Staff Researcher and Postdoctoral Research Fellow. She earned her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Santiago de Compostela. Throughout her career, she has contributed significantly to marine species identification through DNA analysis techniques for food labelling applications.
