Luisa Valente is an Associate Professor at ICBAS, University of Porto, since 2003. She earned her Biology degree from the same university in 1990 and completed her PhD in Biological Sciences at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro in 1999. A member of the Directive Board of CIIMAR since 2016, she leads research in Biology, Aquaculture, and Seafood Quality. With over 100 publications, she collaborates closely with industry as the scientific director of the SANFEED doctoral programme. Her primary research focuses on Fish Nutrition, Sustainable Aquaculture, muscle growth regulation, and circular economy practices.
