Liena de Regla Ponce Rey is a dedicated researcher and educator at the University of Havana's Department of Microbiology and Virology since 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a Master’s degree in Microbiology, specialising in Virology. Currently a PhD student, her research focuses on the antiviral evaluation of natural extracts and the isolation of bioactive compounds with antiviral potential against clinically significant viruses. She has substantial experience in teaching and tutoring undergraduate students, contributing to the academic development of future scientists.
