Jiří Masojídek is a senior researcher and professor at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, where he teaches courses in enzymology, biochemistry, scientific communication, and biotechnology. He studied biochemistry at Charles University in Prague and earned his doctorate in microbiology in 1984 at the Institute of Microbiology ASCR in Prague. He holds a habilitation and professorship in cellular and molecular biology and genetics from the University of South Bohemia. Masojídek has been at the Institute of Microbiology ASCR since 1977, previously leading the Laboratory of Algal Biotechnology from 2005 to 2011.
