Jean-François Sassi is an R&D Manager and International Expert in Algae Processes and Technologies at CEA Aix-en-Provence, France. He is a chemist with extensive experience in applied industrial R&D, specialising in photosynthetic bioprocesses, biobased chemistry, and carbon circular economy. With a proven track record in managing research teams and innovation projects, he has filed 23 patents and co-authored 37 peer-reviewed papers. His education includes a PhD in Chemistry from Université Grenoble Alpes, a postdoctoral fellowship at Cornell University, and an engineering degree from Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier.
