Professor Gabriel Acién is a faculty member at the University of Almería's Department of Chemical Engineering since 2012. He graduated from the University of Granada in 1992 and obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Almería in 1996. He has been involved in 15 European and 40 national projects, alongside numerous industry contracts. With over 150 publications and 10 patents, he actively contributes to the International Society for Applied Phycology and serves as an editor and reviewer for several journals. His research focuses on enhancing microalgae biotechnology, particularly in photobioreactor design and economic analysis of production systems.
