This presentation examines Norway's approach to seaweed food safety risk management. It introduces the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, seaweed harvesting and aquaculture statistics, and the pressing need for harmonized regulations, as Norway currently lacks national seaweed regulations. Key seaweed-related hazards identified in Norway are discussed, along with data submitted to EFSA by the Institute of Marine Research. Norway’s risk management and guidelines for seaweed producers are also presented, with a forward-looking summary.
