Could algae – Bacteria partnership accelerate the growth and lipid production of marine benthic Diatoms?

[din_watch_list_singlepage]
This presentation explores whether algae-bacteria partnerships could boost growth and lipid production in marine benthic diatoms. Focusing on the ecological role of diatoms, the project aims to cultivate *Amphora sp.* with its native bacterial biofilm. Using a biofilm-based photobioreactor, researchers isolated and selected bacteria for co-culturing. Results indicated positive effects, including increased lipid content, highlighting the potential of algae-bacteria synergies in diatom cultivation.
