This presentation explores diatom cultivation and bacterial management. It begins with Tomalgae’s industrial diatom production in Belgium, followed by methods for controlling bacterial growth. Additionally, co-culture experiments with flagellates grazing on diatoms were discussed, as grazing efficiency may relate to bacteria colonizing algal cell surfaces. This work highlights innovative approaches to enhance diatom culture sustainability and productivity.
