The environmental performance of microalgae-based systems, as other bio-based systems, is affected by many sources of uncertainty and variability. These sources include, among others, spatio-temporal variability linked to weather-dependent parameters. In this presentation, parameterized LCA models are presented as a tool to facilitate the evaluation of different configurations and operating conditions by increasing the flexibility of models to define scenarios through different sets of input parameters. Such models can be used, among others, to integrate process dynamics in the environmental LCA of microalgae systems.
