Corjan van den Berg holds a BSc in Food Technology, an MSc in Biotechnology, and a PhD in Process Technology from Delft University of Technology, completed in 2010. Following his post-doctorate, he served as a project leader at Purac (now Corbion), focusing on lactic acid production from lignocellulosic biomass. Since 2011, he has specialised in algae biorefinery, initially at TNO, where he led the development of the world's first mobile algae biorefinery. Since 2016, he has been an assistant professor at Wageningen University and is currently the CEO of FUMI Ingredients, specialising in non-GMO egg-white replacers.
