Rita Araújo is a Scientific Officer at the Joint Research Centre’s Sustainable Resources Directorate, specifically within the Water and Marine Resources Unit. In this role, she supports the EU Biomass project, which evaluates the status and trends of various biomass sectors, including algae. Prior to her current position, Rita worked in marine ecology and the conservation of coastal ecosystems, particularly focusing on seaweed resources since 2001. Her expertise bridges scientific research and practical applications in sustainable resource management.
