Dr. Anicia Q. Hurtado is a Senior Scientist at SEAFDEC-AQD in the Philippines and Chair of the Integrated Services for the Development of Aquaculture and Fisheries (ISDA Inc.). She earned her Doctor of Agriculture (Phycology) from Kyoto University in 1988 as a Monbusho scholar. Dr. Hurtado is actively engaged in commercial seaweed aquaculture as a Technical Adviser and has contributed as an editor to two forthcoming books on Tropical Phyconomy, set for publication in 2024 and 2027 by Springer Nature. She is a respected authority in her field.
