This presentation explores *Nostoc* cyanobacteria, *Llayta sp.*, as a safe nutritional and pigment source with biotechnological potential. The study confirmed the absence of microcystis-like toxins, making it suitable as a food supplement. It is the first to purify pigments from *Llayta sp.*, highlighting its antioxidant properties for use as food additives. Using Oxford Nanopore Technology for genetic analyses, the findings could support future applications in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and functional foods.
